WCW: THE PERFECT MUSE, FISAYO LONGE

Hi fellas. It's another amazing Wednesday. Our Woman Crush is  one person I tried to get for a long time and thank God for persistence! They say nothing good comes easy; You can imagine how much harder it is to get one of the best. *winks

Our WCW, Fisayo Longe is an entrepreneur, a  Fashion, Travel and Personal Development blogger. She's the founder of Mirror me and KAI, an affordable women-wear clothing line.
Fun fact: I had hundreds of beautiful photos of her to choose from for this interview. I was too sad that I had to settle for just a few. She's style goals all day every day. Enjoy my brief chat with her!

Hi Fisayo!

1) You’re the founder of KAI and  'Mirrorme', a Fashion, Lifestyle and Travel blog, how do you deal with all the peculiar uncertainties/challenges that come with owning a ‘business’ and how has the entrepreneurial journey been so far?

FISAYO: It’s been more challenging than I expected but I’m happy that I didn’t realise how challenging it would be because I wouldn’t have done it at the time that I did, if I had known. Mirror Me hasn’t been as challenging as my clothing business KAI to be honest. I deal by being solutions-oriented, keeping my focus on the long-term goal and digging deep to find inner strength when I feel like giving up.

2) Many people see the glam side of your brand on social media, but tell us what it really takes to consistently deliver relevant content.

FISAYO: You have to constantly brainstorm ideas, keep on top of what is trendy and what is happening in the world generally, put outfits together, have shoot days where you change in toilets of coffee shops and on the streets, write, edit photos- there’s so much! Most of it is unglamorous but I love that the end product looks so glamorous and effortless- that’s the plan!

 3) How do you deal with negativity on social media and what’s your major rule when it comes to using social media (if any)?
FISAYO: I don’t get as much negativity as I would expect and I find it quite easy to ignore it or just shoot back a sarcastic reply to be honest. I have a core group of family and friends that I really trust- I don’t care about many other opinions apart from theirs. Everyone’s got something to say and if I had listened to them, I wouldn’t be where I am today so why start listening now?

4) Please tell us one fun fact about you.
FISAYO: I’m not sure, I find this question really difficult/awkward. Lol. I mean like, fun to who? I don’t know. I’m a strange person- I enjoy writing to myself and I have myself on whatsapp. Is that fun? lol.

5)  If you could advice someone chasing their dreams out there now,
you'd tell them to:
FISAYO: Learn yourself- find time to really search and learn who you are and make sure that this dream is really yours. Ignore the noise and listen to the voice inside of you. Finally, feel the fear and do it anyway.

6) We had 'the Lawyartist’ on our MCM Segment and he mentioned that he’d love to draw you because you strike the most amazing poses; How does that make you feel and will you be taking him up on that?
FISAYO: I love Tunji! I met him on the internet because he always commented on my photos and supported me. He’s a great positive spirit. Sure, why not, he’s really talented.

7) What’s on your mind this Wednesday?
FISAYO: How the hell am I going to get through all this work before the end of the year?! That’s what’s on my mind. Lol.

Stay inspired!

WCW- THE UNSTOPPABLE ZAINAB BALOGUN

Wednesday is here and it's great to have another working day after such a long holiday (for my fellow Nigerians)
Today we are crushing on the beautiful, talented Zainab Balogun. She's a TV personality, model and actress and guess what, shes NOT stopping. Enjoy my interview with her ;)

Hi Zainab

1)     Describe your life in three words.
Fun, challenging and blessed!

2)      You’re a TV Host, model, and actress, what inspires you to continue to do more even now that you’ve attained great heights?

I am inspired by the extent of my ambitions. Even though I have achieved  a certain level of success, there are still so many things and people I want to reach. I want to be a part of real change and that comes with doing more, a lot more!

3)      You have a new movie coming out soon- ‘The Royal Hibiscus Hotel’ Was acting a dream or something that came along the line?

I have been acting since 2008. An opportunity to become a part of a Nigerian TV series in 2012 was what had me packing my bags in London. Acting has always been a part of my life.

4)      Please share with us one of the lowest points of your life and how you keep yourself going during the low days.

One of the lowest points in my life was not knowing where I was going with my career a few years ago and if I had made the right decision to move to Nigeria. I was working here and there but I wasn't particularly happy or fulfilled. My tribe of family and friends were able to reassure me that what I felt was temporary and the only way to reach my goals was to literally move.

5)      Tell us one of the best decisions you’ve ever made in life.
Moving to Nigeria when I did was one of the best decisions I ever made. It took me a while to realise it but it was worth it.

6)      How do you deal with negativity on social media and what’s your major rule when it comes to using social media (if any)?
I try my best to ignore the negative views. Its not easy and I have had a few good clapbacks in my old days. You attract the thing you give energy and time to. Most of these views come from people who simply want your attention and will say the most horrible things to get it. My advice is, don't feed the trolls!

7)      You are quite young and accomplished; if you could give a piece of
advice to young people chasing their dreams, what would it be?

My advice is to stay on the course, work your blessing and be prepared!

8)      What’s on your mind this Wednesday?
Food! I always have food on my mind.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
lol I hope you enjoyed that!
Stay inspired,
Anjola

1) What has helped you the most in balancing all your businesses?
Valuing my time and effort. I place maximum value on everything I do so I can get the best result. This showed in my businesses and in turn pushed me to make sure I focus and eventually the balance found it's way.

2) Tell us something that makes you happy and something that pisses you off?
Being appreciated makes me happy and being taken for granted pisses me off.

3)  If you could give everyone in the world something, what would it be?
My time and me sowing a seed in their lives one way or the other.

WCW: ABIMBOLA CRAIG

Hi Peeps! Another Wednesday is upon us.I'm very excited (haters will say I'm always excited) about our WCW today. Nah for real.It was love at first sight for me. Once I started watching the famous Ndani TV Series, Skinny Girl In Transit, I couldn't help but wonder about the lead actor and how original her act was. You can imagine how impressed I was to find out this was her first acting experience. wawu  Of course, it's the one and only Abimbola Craig AKA Tiwa. To describe my interview with her, I'd say brief but Loaded. Enjoy. ;)

Abimbola Craig

Hi Abimbola!

1) 'Skinny girl in transit' was your first professional acting experience; do you think it has affected your life in anyway, and how?
ABIMBOLA: Yes it was; the exposure has been crazy, it’s really hard to go somewhere without being known, it's humbling. Aside from that though, still the same Bimbo.

ABIMBOLA: Waking up everyday, it’s a blessing.

ABIMBOLA: I do, the uncertainty of not doing enough and not fulfilling one’s purpose is scary, I just PRAY, Knowing that He that put me on this earth did so for a purpose and that in His own time he shall perfect all that concerns me. I just try to be a better version of myself each day.

5)      If you were to play another character in SGIT, Who would it be?

WCW: ADENIKE ADEBAYO

Hi peeps! It's another beautiful Wednesday; is it me or Wednesdays are just usually awesome? LOL. Today, our Woman Crush is a presenter, Vlogger and  film maker -A power woman in progress-Oh Yes she's the second Adenike we are having on the WCW segment. You can read up on the other Adenike HERE. Enjoy!

Adenike O, Adebayo

Hi Adenike!

1) You've been running your YouTube show, 'the screening room' for quite a while, what's the best opportunity that the show has made available to you and how did you feel when you got the opportunity?

I was invited to a part of the panelists for Nollywood Movies Awards in 2014. And though I was based in the States at that time, I was sponsored to come to Lagos for the awards and it was an amazing experience. They found me through my YouTube channel. That opportunity opened a lot of doors for me.

2) What's your favorite thing to do in the world?

Watch movies!!! Binge Watching series. Sometimes I think I'm strange because I can watch movies nonstop.

3) how do you calm your nerves when you're about to take on a nerve wrecking project.

I pray and remember God's promises and his word for my life. I reassure myself in the word of God. It always lifts my spirit.

4) if you could be anyone in the world, (aside yourself) who would you be?

I have never thought of this really. There are people whoses lives I admire... Maybe Michelle Obama.. (people do say I look like her)

5) It's Wednesday, tell us what's one piece of advice that you hold dear to your heart?

After relocating to Lagos from the States, one of the best pieces of advice I got was from a friend. He said 'in order for you to succeed in this country, you'll have to be blind to a lot of things... The traffic, weather etc.. Just focus on your goal...'

Thank you

WCW: Tallulah is the new kid on the block

A new face on the 'Moments' brand on Ebonylife TV, Tallulah is living her dream! We chatted with her and we were so pleased that she had a lot to say. Tallulah shares what it's like being a co-host on the show while snagging in what she'll usually be causgh wearing when she's not in front of the camera. Enjoy.

Tolu Doherty AKA Tallulah is a presenter, producer, entrepreneur and our WOMAN CRUSH for today.

Hello Tolu!

1) Your name Tallulah is such a funky name, how did you get it?
At school, I always had a bunch of nicknames no one ever called me my real name Tolu lol! And Tallulah is the one that stuck. It comes from the musical "Bugsy Malone" the main character is called Tallulah and she's gorgeous and glamorous so as a gangly 12 year old with braces, I was like yes bring it on"My name is Tallulah!".

2) You are a new co-host on the ‘Moments’ show. What’s it like co-hosting with Bolanle and Toke and how did you feel the moment you got the job?

Toke and Bolanle are a joy to work with. I was definitely nervous the first day on set but I know them both socially so that helped and I love the fact that they wanted us all to shine they made me comfortable in every way and it has truly been a fabulous experience all the way. I've been part of the Ebonylifetv family for a while now as I hosted the show "Wardrobe Diaries" and am also a host on "VVIP Events" but getting the call that I'd been picked as the new co-host on Moments was a life changing experience. What made it even better was that I'd been having a bad day, you know one of those days we all have where we question ourselves, our abilities and start asking big existential questions - so getting that phone call on that type of day really blew my mind and made me so appreciative of the fact that I get to do what I love as a profession.

3) You are quite stylish, however, if you’re going somewhere around or devoid of public eyes, what are you throwing on?

My everyday staple is a midi body con dress and cute bag with sandals or jeans and an embellished tank top paired with cute earrings and a dope pair of sunglasses. I like to be comfortable but  also like
to be able to transition from day to night easily as due to the nature of my job I may need to be at an event at short notice. So I always have a few pairs of pretty heels in my car to choose from. My preferred brands are Jimmy Choo and Prada for designer and for high street I love River Island and Topshop shoes.

4) If you could appear on any talk show internationally as a guest or host, what show would that be?

Oh wow! That's a difficult one. As a host It would be "The Real" those girls look like they're having so much fun and I love all the different personalities. Also Adrienne is my bff in my head so co-hosting with her would I'm sure be a blast. As a guest, though its now defunct it would be The Oprah Show because I love the way that Oprah is so skilled as an interviewer that she has the ability to make her interviewees open up and share things they didn't intend to. Like when Tom Cruise jumped on the couch and all those other iconic Oprah show moments. Also she hugely influenced me growing up I loved the way she could connect with people across all barriers - age, race, gender etc.

5) What piece of advice do you wish you had received 5 years ago?

To feed my focus and starve my distractions. I think often times we get distracted by minor things that should be ignored. And also you're not a tree if you're not happy, move. It's that simple. Life is to be lived and enjoyed not suffered through. Work on your goals daily, surround yourself with people who genuinely love you, want to see you win and make you laugh - laughter is very important to me. And finally Carpe Diem - Seize the day!
Thank you

This was such an amazing interview. Hope you enjoyed it and learnt a few things too.
