My sister celebrated her birthday this week and so i wanted to celebrate her by dedicating this week's #WinWednesday to her.
You don't choose your family, but i am grateful for mine. When it comes to Funke Bucknor-Obruthe, i am a fan as much as a sister. Growing up i would follow her around. Or at least, try. I still follow her though, just not physically.
There are certain things she has taught me without even saying anything and these four are my favourites.
- Be an all-rounder
In the Bible when some mischievous people asked Jesus a question to trip Him up, he said, "Give unto Caesar that which is Caesar's..."
I think Funke is one person who is able to balance having time for her career, her family, her social life, and her faith.
- Do. Then do more.
My sister can't stop doing. And what's more, she does not let criticism, doubts, fear, or anything else stand in her way. If Funke wants to do it, she will. And she will do it in her own beautiful way! I love it!
- Grow.
She always always wants to be better, especially when it comes to her companies. She listens to advice, consults and tries things to make herself and her work better. She has strong work ethic and i like that she is firm. Her high standards that she demands are not just for others; she demands the best from herself as well.
- Take care of family
Or make that, 'people'. If she can help, she will,
There is a lot more. Like how she forgives easily and gets along with practically everyone, bringing that Biblical line, "..be at peace with everyone" to life. I love it.
Happy birthday once again to the almost only sugar in my tea. I love you!

WCW: JUNE RECAP
Hi everyone, it's Wednesday (and my birthday too *winks) and I'm super excited, but that's not why you are here, is it? lol. On monday, we had a recap of our June men crushes and of course today, we'll be doing so for all the amazing women we've crushed on so far. Enjoy outstanding quotes/facts from each of them ;)
TOLU 'TALLULAH' DOHERTY
If you read Tallulah's interview, you'd know that she had a lot to say. My favourite lines from her would have to be these -...feed my focus and starve my distractions. I think often times we get distracted by minor things that should be ignored. And also you're not a tree if you're not happy, move. It's that simple. Life is to be lived and enjoyed not suffered through. Work on your goals daily, surround yourself with people who genuinely love you, want to see you win and make you laugh - laughter is very important to me. And finally Carpe Diem - Seize the day!
CLAY
Clay definitely has a lot of depth. Here's my favourite from her -A lot kids out there, live the social media. They see and copy. Totally forgetting to do 'themselves '; Absolutely ignoring the fact that half the stuff in the media is bogus. And really the beauty in the world, is the difference in everyone, our particular individuality. Being yourself.
ADENIKE ADEBAYO
Adenike is one person that sets out to make everyone around her comfortable. The most interesting fact about her would have to be this -I love to watch movies!!! Binge Watching series. Sometimes I think I'm strange because I can watch movies nonstop. Little wonder her YouTube channel is about reviewing movies.
JANE MICHAEL EKANEM
I asked Jane about how her life has changed since she came into limelight. I honestly thought she'd say something about too much paparazzi or 'yes-men'. lol but the reverse was the case. Here's what she said -Being in the spotlight has changed my life completely, improved my self-confidence and expanded my capacity. Being in the spotlight has put upon me the pressure to succeed and stay succeeding, then there is of course, the pressure not to let down those who constantly support me and my journey. I would generally say that although the spotlight comes with some rewards, it does have its difficult sides
ADENIKE OYETUNDE
Adenike is inspiration herself. One profound statement she made that has stuck with me for a while would have to be this- I honestly don't seek the praises of men, I have heard how detrimental that can be.

#PinkFootball Cutest proposal pictures ever!
Former Manchester United player, Memphis Depay recently proposed to his fiancee, Lori Harvey. Lori is Steve Harvey and Marjorie's Harvey last child (although she is technically, Steve's step daughter). Don't you just love how idyllic and beautiful the spot he chose is?
It is so cute I. Cannot. Deal.

MCM: June Recap
Hi Peeps! This is honestly the first Monday I can confidently say 'Happy Monday' without expecting readers to roll their eyes. What a wonderful time to be alive. LOL. 4 days of holiday! Happy Eid ul fitr to all our muslim readers.
Today is the last Monday in June, so I decided to do a recap of all the 'hanzome bobos' we've had on our MCM segment; But a simple recap will be so boring and you can always go back to read the articles, it's not like they are transient. We'll be spicing it up a little. I'm going to be writing out my favorite responses from all our MCM's so far. If you're ready, let's cut to the chase!
Yemi was a ball of wisdom. Even the fun questions I asked
turned out being motivational. Sigh. So here's my best from him.
One thing I never forget to do in my "hours of
life" is praise God. For you, you can spend your 'hours of life' meditating OR praying, the point is take some time off everyday.
AYOOLA AYOLOLA
Ayoola's note to his twenty year old self was so apt. Here it goes-Don't be in a Hurry, enjoy this moments. Your tomorrow is sorted. Everyone should be reminded of this everyday. Live in the moment.

LAWYARTIST
Lawyartist was such a joy to interview; Maybe it's his cartoons/ artworks that just make me happy but once i hear layartist, I'm glad. My favourite line from him is- I try to draw every day after my 9-6 as a lawyer; it’s really that simple. It’s simple but consistency is key. Yes, whatever it is you do, remember to be consistent.

My favourite from him would just have to be the fashion trend he loves-
"reflector framea, You just can't see through my frames but you see
yourself" Who doesnt love those?
Jon was so sweet! My favourite response from him was an answer to the question " if you could delete one year in your life, which would it be." . He said -would've
have said 2011, leaving the United States to the United Kingdom. However, I
believe that all things work together for my good, so all the years I have
spent add up to this moment. So no matter how bad things get, remember its part of your success story ;)
I was so happy to ask
this question and even happier with the response- If you could change
something in the world with the flip of a switch, what would it be?
SLK said he'll switch
off the quest for money making by all means and Switch on honesty and doing the
right things. Well, what could be more important?
That's it! If you'll like to read the fuller interviews, just click on their names.

#StyleSaturday Saved by the striped pants!
Last week, i went for the Stylvo Creatives Connect event.
I wrote about it for Kwesefied here.
My stylist and i had picked out what i was going to wear- oversized white shirt with a maroon jacket. It was chic and definitely not my usual style.
Sadly, the next day, after putting on my make up, i went to get dressed and i just could not wear it because the shirt was too rumpled and i was running late.
So there i was trying not to panic as i watched the clock tick.
I began looking at what i had and trying to think of what to mix and match quickly.
In the end, my eyes landed on these striped pants and it was a bingo moment.
Once i knew i was going with the pants, everything else became easy. I would have liked a white shirt with it and now i know one item i simply must buy next shopping spree.
Next best option was the sleeveless blue shirt i eventually went with.
Although black items tend to be the most versatile items in your wardrobe, dark blue tops come a close third. White is of course number 2.
So i threw it on, tucked it in, grabbed my white shoes and dashed out of the house.

WCW: JANE MICHAEL EKANEM
Jane Michael Ekanem
Hi Jane,
1) Let's throwback a little,
What were you doing at the point when you were told you would be the official
stylist for MTN Project fame, and how did you feel?
JANE: I was chosen as the official
stylist for the FEMALE contestants and the female host for the show. At that
time, I had a mobile boutique, selling clothes from office to office; so it is
apt to say that was a major break for me. How did I feel? Exhilarated. I was
over-the-moon kind of delighted, yet I was nervous as well you see, because it
was a challenge and I was not expected to fail. It was a ‘to whom much is
given…’ situation for me.
2) In what ways has your life changed
since you came into spotlight?
JANE: Being in the spotlight has
changed my life completely, improved my self-confidence and expanded my
capacity. Being in the spotlight has put upon me the pressure to succeed and
stay succeeding, then there is of course, the pressure not to let down those
who constantly support me and my journey. I would generally say that although
the spotlight comes with some rewards, it does have its difficult sides.
3) If you could be an outfit, what would the ensemble look like?
JANE: If I could be an outfit, I would be a Jane Michael Collection’s white shirt, black skirt with black patent pointy heels ensemble.
4) What’s your favourite thing to do,
outside of work and ‘riding’ of course lol?
5) Who’s your WCW today and why?
JANE: My mom. She is a two-time survivor
of really difficult surgeries, a brain surgery and leg surgery. She is my
perfect example of a strong woman who keeps taking life in stride.
Thanks for reading guys.
Stay inspired!
Monday
MCM: Jon Ogah reveals his biggest fear
Hi everyone! Happy Monday!! (weird greeting I know); but I love Mondays a lot and I hope I can make you love them too. Mondays remind me that I can always start afresh, no matter how badly I've messed up, so I look forward to them for a feeling of rebirth. I also love Mondays because I get to share with you guys, young men who are doing amazing stuff in their fields and today isn't any different.
You may know him from the maiden edition of Glo Naija Sings, or from being a Fake housemate on BBN 2017. Either way, with his looks, voice and persona, he's been winning hearts since 1990 something. *WINKS
Read our chat with him below ;)
Read our chat with him below ;)
Jon Ogah is a singer and songwriter
Hi Jon,
1) You have Simi and Adekunle Gold on the remake of ‘Uncle Suru’ which comes out soon, why both of them?
When I decided to remake Uncle Suru, I knew I wanted a different perspective on the journey to achieving one's dream. Adekunle Gold was already a fan of the song and so was Simi as well and one of my dreams was to sing with them. Adekunle's urban high life style is out of this world and Simi's voice and writing is mad. They were the perfect choice to interpret the song and I am so glad.
2) Do you always infuse personal experiences into your songs?
I always write from a deep place, the things I have experienced and the things I want to experience play a big role in my writing. Also, I love listening and learning from other people's story.
3) If you could delete and repeat any years in your life, which would they be?
Hmmm! I would've have said 2011, leaving the United States to the United Kingdom. However, I believe that all things work together for my good, so all the years I have spent add up to this moment.
4) What’s your biggest fear in life?
My biggest fear is leaving this world without haven made any impact; Without haven made any valuable connection with humanity; Without standing for something. I want to leave my footprints in the sands.
5) What fun stuff do you love to do, asides singing?
I like travelling, writing, watching TV series and hanging out with friends.
Wednesday
WCW: ADENIKE ADEBAYO
Hi peeps! It's another beautiful Wednesday; is it me or Wednesdays are just usually awesome? LOL. Today, our Woman Crush is a presenter, Vlogger and film maker -A power woman in progress-Oh Yes she's the second Adenike we are having on the WCW segment. You can read up on the other Adenike HERE. Enjoy!
Adenike O, Adebayo
Hi Adenike!
1) You've been running your YouTube show, 'the screening
room' for quite a while, what's the best opportunity that the show has made
available to you and how did you feel when you got the opportunity?
I was invited to a part of the panelists for Nollywood
Movies Awards in 2014. And though I was based in the States at that time, I was
sponsored to come to Lagos for the awards and it was an amazing experience.
They found me through my YouTube channel. That opportunity opened a lot of
doors for me.
2) What's your favorite thing to do in the world?
Watch movies!!! Binge Watching series. Sometimes I think I'm
strange because I can watch movies nonstop.
3) how do you calm your nerves when you're about to take on
a nerve wrecking project.
I pray and remember God's promises and his word for my life.
I reassure myself in the word of God. It always lifts my spirit.
4) if you could be anyone in the world, (aside yourself) who
would you be?
I have never thought of this really. There are people whoses
lives I admire... Maybe Michelle Obama.. (people do say I look like her)
5) It's Wednesday, tell us what's one piece of advice that
you hold dear to your heart?
After relocating to Lagos from the States, one of the best
pieces of advice I got was from a friend. He said 'in order for you to succeed
in this country, you'll have to be blind to a lot of things... The traffic,
weather etc.. Just focus on your goal...'
Thank you

Isoken the Movie Premiere...Glitz, Glam, and a very good film
Vibrant. Regal. Beautiful.
Words not only to describe the Premiere of the movie ‘Isoken,’ but the film itself. The theme of the night was "African Royalty," so the Landmark centre was full of men in traditional outfits from different Nigerian regions, those who rocked unconventional trad-inspired looks, like Akah Nnani in an aṣọ-òkè jacket, and then there were the ladies. The ladies did not come to play! From the director Jade Osiberu’s gown made of a pink shimmery aṣọ-òkè, cast member Damilola Attoh’s Black dress topped off with a beautiful head tie, guests in traditional coral beads and head-dresses and full on geles with ìró and buba, there was so much fashion eye-candy, I was overwhelmed. I love a good theme!
A post shared by Isoken The Movie (@isokenthemovie) on
Once in the hall, there were performances by Femi Leye, new kids on the block Bemyoda and Falana, both of whom are in the movie, and the legendary Sir Victor Uwaifo, who showed us some moves I didn’t even know a 70 year old could have! All this while enjoying a really yummy dinner and drinks. Food is bae, and so is good music; 5 stars to the organizers on that.
After performances and a speech from the director, Jade Osiberu, we settled in to watch the film. Isoken is the story of a 34 year old successful single woman with younger married siblings, whose overbearing mother is pressuring her to get married. Sound familiar? Yup.
A post shared by Isoken The Movie (@isokenthemovie) on
The film itself was thoroughly enjoyable. Dakore Egbuson as the lead, with brilliant comedy from Funke Akindele-Bello as her friend Agnes and Lydia Forson as Kuku, did a fantastic job showing how a lady can have it together in every way, yet still be treated like an alien if she hasn’t had kids or gotten married by a certain age. Acting veterans Patrick Doyle and Tina Mba were great as Isoken’s parents, while TV presenter and media darling Bolanle Olukanni made her solid film debut as Isoken’s younger sister.
This isn’t meant to be a review, and I don’t want to give away the whole plot, but this film is one you will enjoy. You will laugh. You will see in the characters someone you know, or maybe even yourself; you will love the beautiful costumes, kudos to Dami of Fierce and Modish for a fantastic job styling the movie, and you will have more than a few jaw dropping moments.
After the movie, the cast and director walked out to a standing ovation, and then we got down to the after party! Who doesn’t love a good after-party, right? Free flowing Moet and small chops plus good music? I almost forgot it was Sunday night!

#OAP101 OAPs are some of the best multi-taskers, Dotun says as he kicks off the OAP takeovers
You know him as DO 2 D TUN, super hype-man and radio host with Cool FM 96.9.
The multiple award winning personality has no doubt earned his place as one of the well known and sought after on air personalities in Nigeria and it is no surprise that he is the first Man to kick off the ‘OAP takeovers’ by The OAP 101 project.
‘OAP 101’ is a guide for established, fresh and aspiring on air personalities. Media personality and the content queen, Tosyn Bucknor began recording diary type podcasts titled ‘OAP 101’ back in 2016. From there, it took on a life of its own with a blog, social media, and physical courses to come.
Dotun’s take over kicked off with some simple words of advice- “while it wasn’t the most respected profession until now, our values tripled because we've made it a culture, a lifestyle, a force, a school to learn and be entertained all at the same time. I am proud to be an OAP and so you know, we are still one of the best multi-taskers”.
His next post gives us an insight into what drives him; “ I prefer to earn it. It makes me appreciate it more ▪They say you are lucky, they have no damn idea how you competed get here. Radio is a game. A very serious game. FOCUS”

MCM: YEMI, THE MILLENNIAL SHUTTERBUG
Hi everyone! Happy holiday! (if your work allows). So if you
are social media savvy, you will know that there are photographers and there
are PHOTOGRAPHERS. Today we are crushing on a PHOTOGRAPHER. With unusual eyes
and an impressive knack for creating images, Yemi Teibo is documenting moments
for generations unborn.
Yemi Teibo
1) You take very creative shots, how do you choose stories
to create?
First of all I like to say I think upside down I'm quite
spontaneous I don't like to create stories I let the story create itself as it
is. That way there's no limit to what will be created but then I have certain
principles that guide me.
2) What are the 'ingredients' for a perfect shot?
For a perfect shot the most important thing is lighting you
just have to get it right, then secondly the subject whoever or whatever you
are shooting has to be on the same page with you and also express themselves at
the same time, lastly your camera as a whole it's settings, your lens, your
camera angles and positioning all have to speak the same language at the same
time, like an orchestra.
3) What's been the most memorable photo shoot you've ever
had?
My first ever pre-wedding shoot the client hired two
separate photographers and on the day of the shoot, I came with my camera and
two lenses and my light. Then I saw the other photographer and all the
equipment he brought.I was intimidated and too shy to even bring out my own
equipment but then I picked myself up took the pictures and left already
expecting the clients to pick his pictures over mine because of all he brought; so I Went home that day, I edited the pictures and delivered only for me to see
almost all my pictures mostly used and the other photographer's own rarely
used. It's memorable because I didn't let what I saw bring me down. I still went
to give my best and it paid off. I will never forget that experience.
4) What are your days usually like?
well, I don't have days or a typical I just have hours of
life because most times when everyone is asleep I'm up shooting, editing,
designing or reading when everyone is awake I'm probably resting but then I'm a
serial entrepreneur too so if I'm not shooting, editing, designing, resting and
I'm in meetings trying to seal deals here and there and I also design clothes
my collection is coming out soon. But one thing I never forget to do in my
"hours of life" is praise God. He is the reason for
everything.
5) How do you keep yourself constantly inspired?
My inspiration comes
from God when I praise him he inspires me. My emotions also inspires me When
I'm very happy I create different when I'm down I create different. Good music
also inspires. I listen to I lot of music and finally I let other photographers
inspire me too. I surf the internet a lot in search of all kinds of images
that suits my style and let them inspire me.
WOW, that was a lot of wisdom to hold on to.
Stay Inspired!

#Skincare Say goodbye to stress, and say hello to great skin!
My friend, Gbemi, tweeted something the other day which got me smiling.
It got me smiling because we often times do not realise how much the emotional affects the physical. We have always been told, don't frown or when the wind blows your face will stay like that, or laugh your troubles away and while not everything can be solved by laughing, our skin does benefit from our being happy.
While we cannot control every single change we go through based on environment and getting older, we can practise certain things that will help.
For one, worry less, pray more.
Studies show that people who worry a lot show it... on their faces.
Look, if it is worth worrying about, it is worth praying about and the latter won't age you!
Also, smile and be happy.
Once again, your skin shows signs of anger, hate, bitterness, and unhappiness.
We tend to think (wrongly) that what goes on in our mind stays there but alas, it does show.
So if you can do just one thing for your skin, make it this- be happy!
Just look at God! Let go of a stressful situation & my skin is glowing ✨✨ . Nothing like peace of mind y'all .— Gbemi O-O (@GbemiOO) June 9, 2017

#Vlog 'Day One' or 'One Day"?
Vlog time and in this week's edition of "And then there was Friday", i speak about how procrastination can end up being a dream stealer.
When it comes to all the things you have purposed to do, will you keep saying, "one day" or are you going to make this, "day one"?

#Celebrity 2pac Amaru Shakur
If you have seen the movie: Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny, this line must have stood out: 'A scholar is still remembered 5 years after his passing, but a swordsman is remembered for 20 years.'
Today 2pac is being remembered, twenty years after his passing, not for being a swordsman, but for being a rapper, poet, actor, an inspiration and the GOAT (Greatest Of All Time).
Today in 1996, at the age of 25, 2pac died after he had spent 7 days in the hospital, of gunshot wounds sustained during drive-by shooting at the intersection of Flamingo Road and Koval Lane in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
2pac drafted his code of thug life. Rules which acknowledged that crime was deeply entrenched in their but if they lived by those chains, there would be no future so the kids had to seek their own paths to creativity and personal development.

When you listen to 2pac's lyrics, you connect to the passion and message. He started from the bottom, struggled, but was always determined ti be better and speak up.
Everyone has their "2pac song"! That one they know by heart and connect to the most. I have three. I know all the lyrics to "Changes", connect to "Life goes on" but "Hit em up" just has a lot of weight for me.
What's your favourite 2pac song?

Remember when the 68th Emmy Awards hosted by Jimmy Kimmel held and Jimmy basically kept the crowd in stitches with various gags and his dark humour.
But of course! Forget who won what (Game of Thrones, Regina King, etc), what kept us enthralled was the red carpet.
Check out our favs:
1. Tracee Ellis Ross
1. Tracee Ellis Ross
The beautiful Tracee Ellis Ross from one of the funniest series ever 'Blackish' looked simple but sophisticated in this Ralph Lauren dress.
2. Priyanka Chopra
Perfect off-shoulder crimson gown for the red carpet. I particularly loved when she twirled in this Jason Wu gown for the camera. Go Priyanka!
3. Niecy Nash
Niecy Nash had designed this dress years ago and finally summoned up the courage to actually get it designed, teaming up Christian Siriano.
I looooooooved it!
4. Kerry Washington
Remind me to try this. Lmao!
Kerry Washington flaunted her baby bump in an elegant black custom Brandon Maxwell dress.
The 2016 Emmys were a blast as usual. What were your favorite looks and moments?
WCW : She's the CLAY moulding ROCK
Hi everyone, happy Wednesday! Let's start off today with a quick story. I once heard a cover of Korede Bello's song 'Godwin' and boy was I amazed! I thought with chills down my spine, who on earth is this? By chance, the OAP who had played this song mentioned something that sounded like Clay. So I went on the internet to find out who this CLAY was, only to discover that she was and still is a rock star in her own league. Ever since then, she has never disappointed. Listen to her once and you'll have her on repeat. I promise you.
Clay is a 'freaking godessa' of course she has to be our WCW
1) Your latest song 'O Chukwu' has a unique message of self
love, why that message?
A lot kids out there, live the social media. They see and
copy. Totally forgetting to do 'themselves '; Absolutely ignoring the fact that
half the stuff in the media is bogus. And really the beauty in the world, is
the difference in everyone, our particularly individuality. Being yourself.
2) You are known for the rock genre, will you describe your
love for rock as intentional or accidental?
Based on the categories above, I would say it's both.
Accidental because I can't really define why this is my preferred genre of
music and I totally didn't decide to love Rock, it just happened. It's
intentional because I realized my love for this beautiful genre, and made a
firm decision to do and definitely see it through.
3) You're one person many people see as real, because you say
things as they are. Tell us an unpopular belief that you have?
Society is a dictator, Society is the problem of the world,
society ruin(ed) us. Society is as bad as global warming.
4) If you could live life with only one thing in
the world, what would it would it be?
Food of course...
Maybe contentment, if you're content then nothing else
matters much.
5) Who is your WCW and why?
The awesome and amazing Gal Gadot
Why? She's an absolute wonder (woman)lol.
Stay inspired!
Monday
MCM: THE LAWYARTIST
Hi everyone, its another beautiful Monday (Don't you just love Mondays? LOL). Today we are crushing on a combination of two halves. Dong get scared, its Tunji Onigbanjo , The Lawyartist- Half Lawyer, Half artist.
1) You have an incredible talent, have you
ever considered leaving law to chase arts full time?
No I haven’t however whenever I’m asked “what if you get a
multi-million/billion dollar deal for your art” my answer is “yes I would leave
law”. I’m not a crazy person.
law and arts? Genius!
2) What/who inspires your artworks?
This changes from
time to time. Sometimes it’s a cartoon from my childhood, sometimes it’s some
random thought that pops into my head while driving. In summary, I am inspired
by cartoons, pop culture, artists I consider as mentors and my instincts.
3)
If you
could paint one person in the world, who would be your muse?
Fisayo Longe. She strikes the coolest poses.
4) What’s the best feedback you’ve ever got
from your work and from what painting?
Best feedback: Whenever I am told that my drawings inspire
others to draw or make art in general. I have gotten this on account of
different drawings from quite a few people.
In terms of feedback meaning popularity of a piece, it’s my
Yoruba boy smiley. It was bought even before I finished drawing it and I later
on used it and its female counterpart on merchandise, which got rave reviews.
5) It’s Monday. Tell us how you combine law
with arts; how does time management play in for you?
Yes it’s Monday, the
world’s favourite worst day. This one doesn’t feel so bad.
I try to draw every day after my 9-6 as a lawyer; it’s
really that simple. It’s simple but consistency is key, as I have to draw every
night, however brief, to ensure my skill and portfolio keep growing. For me it
started as a talent but is fast transitioning into a second career hat. People
say my head is big, so I can wear two.
That was a funny one! Be sure to follow him on social media
